About Susan

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor.

After many years as a small business owner, I attended Southwest Texas State University and received my Bachelors of Arts and Sciences with an emphasis in Psychology in 2002. I then went on to receive my Masters of Arts degree in 2006 from Texas State University-San Marcos.

I worked in counseling and therapy for several years, primarily in crisis centers and shelters, working with children, adolescents, adults, and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault and abuse. Working in the telephonic EAP (Employee Assistance Program) department at United Health Care/United Behavorial Health, I expanded and honed my skills in crisis intervention and learned a great deal about the mental health system.

At the end of August 2012, I resigned my position at UHG and moved to Colorado Springs due to my husband's acceptance of a job position there.

I am have done volunteer work with children in the child welfare system through the CASA organization and accept clients for part-time private practice. If interested, you may inquire about counseling or therapy with me online via Skype with video, as well as face to face sessions here in Colorado Springs. For clients who chose to continue their work together after our move from Texas, Skype has worked very well.

In addition, for over fourteen years, I have studied and practiced several energy healing modalities. In 2016, I discovered Biofield Tuning, sound therapy with tuning forks. My experience with this method has proven to be a remarkable addition to energy work! In combination with the other healing methods at my disposal, it is a very powerful tool.
